There are many categories of Fire Extinguishers, but most common  are:-

1. ABC Powder (RED Body) has a date underneath its shell, you are require to get a service every 6 years on them from the date printed.

2. K Type (Silver Body) used in commercial kitchens, you are required to get a service every 5 years on them.

3. Co2 (RED body, but with a massive black handle, best used to put out electrical Fires and etc. You are required to get a service every 5 year on them.

All Emergency Lighting units are required to be run for 30 minutes minimum. There are 2 types of Batteries:-

1. Sealed Lead Acid ( needs to be changed every 5 years)

2. NiCD/NiMH ( needs to be changed every 4 years)

Inspection requires, each and every device connected to the panel tested. This includes:-

1. Pull Stations
2. Heat Detectors
3. Smoke Alarms
4. Fire Alarm Bells and etc.

1. Needs to be tested frequently
2. Winterized before harsh Canadian winters
3. Full trips
4. Heat trace
5. Tamper/flows

Due to increasing Forest Fires and Flooding, some insurance companies do require to get their clients an annual fire inspection performed. If a fire breaks out in your building and your building does not have  its annual inspection performed in that calendar year, The insurance company may reject your claim.
